CarolinaPower Team Members Take First and Second Place in Upstate Electrical Apprentice Competition
On Friday, October 3rd, CarolinaPower’s Greenville office hosted the 𝗨𝗽𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, bringing together some of the region’s most promising electrical apprentices for a day of skill, precision, and professional pride. Those competing represented 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲, 𝗛𝗮𝘆𝗲𝘀 & 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱, and 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿.
Emerging as the top performer was 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗦𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗵, 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲, followed by 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗿, who earned 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀. Both winners are proud members of the CarolinaPower team, exemplifying the company’s commitment to excellence and workforce development.
The competition tested participants on a range of technical challenges, from conduit bending and wiring to safety procedures, and code knowledge, all hallmarks of a successful career in the electrical trade.
Events like these highlight the importance of skilled trades and the bright future ahead for apprentices in the electrical industry. CarolinaPower continues to invest in training and development, ensuring that the next generation of electricians is well-equipped to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving field.
Registered with the S.C. Department of Labor, the Upstate Electrical Apprenticeship Program is administered by ABC Carolinas Chapter with classes held at Greenville Technical College.
