CarolinaPower, named one of South Carolina’s Best Places to Work in 2018, held its 19th Annual Employee Awards and Appreciation dinner earlier this month. The event, which drew employees from all four S.C. offices – Greenville, Columbia, Charleston and North Augusta – was held in Greenwood, S.C. because of its central location.
CarolinaPower recognized employee accomplishments in four distinct categories: Jobsite Safety, Individual Safety Recognition, Safe Driving, Excellence in Education, and Long-Term Service. The various awards were presented by the CarolinaPower leadership team.
Project teams representing all markets of focus were celebrated for achieving outstanding safety results of ZERO lost-time accidents, and nearly 100 employees received individual safety recognition. Safe Driver Awards were presented to more than 30 individuals in nine categories (based on consecutive years without an incident).
When it came to the Excellence in Education, more than 50 employees were given certificates for completing rigorous continuing education coursework. One individual was celebrated for moving ahead to the next level of the company’s four-year Electrical Apprenticeship Program, while another received special acknowledgement for graduating from the Apprenticeship Program.
“This year’s employee recognition event was extremely well attended – a testament to the one-company mindset displayed as people from all offices came together to celebrate CarolinaPower’s exceptional 2018,” said Chris Moore, Vice President and General Manager. “It was an upbeat evening of fun, food and camaraderie as we looked back with pride and forward with a relentless focus on safety, customer service and quality.”
